HUS - BUSH PILOT BUCKAROO (Stony Plain)
I'm a big fan and delighted Stony Plain has stepped up
and signed this quintessential Albertan, the Stompin'
Tom of the foothills. Hus has an amazing ear for the world
of the regular, lunchpail schmo, the legion boozer or,
indeed, the trucker "cashin' in my snow chains"
in "Dempster Highway." Then there's the story
of the displaced Maritimer working the oil sands in "A
Hundred Grande" or the one about the rust bucket
Fargo pickup "held together with baling wire"
in "Cattlerack Cadillac." Like his pal Corb
Lund, Hus is a singular Canadian voice and well worth
a serious listen.
