Season's Greetings!

We would like to wish all of our friends up and down the twisting highways the very best for this Christmas and the coming New Year. It has been a really good year for the band and we have enjoying seeing so many familiar folks at venues throughout the provinces and making a whole frieght yard full of new supporters. It was a real treat to bring our show to all sorts of towns and cities we hadn't performed in before. Thanks to our booking agents at PM Gigs and all the help from Festival Distribution and the rest of our team. We look forward to bringing you a new album this coming Spring. See you down the road.

Tim's older brother Christopher is 31 and a sailing enthusiast. He and his girlfriend Courtenay set out on a great adventure this year to sail a 30' wooden sailing boat from New Zealand back to Victoria, BC. They sailed from New Zealand to Tahiti and from there to Hawaii. They left Hawaii on September 8th for the final leg of their voyage and have gone missing. They should have arrived in Victoria sometime in mid-October but nothing has been heard from them and no trace found of their vessel.
Tim and Christopher spent alot of time together while growing up and worked together in tree planting camps 8 or 9 years ago as well as adventuring around Europe. Chris worked as a driller on oil rigs in the Alberta oil fields as well and helped Tim to write his song "One More Oil Boom" which is recorded on the 2004 Alberta Crude album. Christopher was always very supportive of Tim's music and encouraged him to pursue his songwriting path early on.

November 25, 2007

Tim and his bandmates are currently rehearsing new songs and will be going into the studio at the beginning of December to record their highly anticipated fourth album. This album once again will be filled with songs that Tim has himself composed over the last couple of years. We'll let you know all about it as things progress.

There are still some tickets left for the New Year's Eve show in Calgary and we invite you to bring in 2008 in grande style with Hus and the gang at their little hometown honky-tonk A Bar Named Sue. Advance tickets are available at the bar 1410 4th Street SW or phone 263-1197.

Today is Grey Cup Sunday and Spider (the band's Saskatchewan big butch bull fiddle slapper) invites all Roughrider fans to tilt up the Pilsner bottles today.

We have also posted some new photos on the shootin' gallery page so please check 'em out...

Hello ramblers, gamblers, bushrangers, and carpetbaggers,

I hope you are well and enjoying the autumn weather. I guess the days are getting colder now with the good ol' Canadian winter just around the corner. I still have my snowshovel leanin' up against the fence from last winter because we spent so much time on the road I hardly got the chance to put it away. Last week I was in the recording studio doing a guest vocal on a song with Brett Kissell for his new album which I think will be called "Roots Grow Deep". Brett is a 17 year old ranch kid from St. Paul and he is a really good singer and guitar player. He was nominated by the CCMA for the "Rising Star" award for 2006 & 2007. It was a good time. Also, last Monday Spider and I played a show on the observation deck of the Calgary Tower which is likely one of the highest venues to host a country show (I mean in terms of elevation...). We even sang a couple of songs standing on the glass floor where we could see Atlantic Avenue 160 meters below the stompin' heels of our cowboy boots. Somethin' different I guess...

All the best, TH

Hello Friends,

I just returned home from my first visit to the CCMA Country Music Week and Awards show...this year held in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was a very busy four days of seminars, showcases, awards presentations, and events where I was able to spend some good times with my friends in the business and of course make a whole lot of new ones. I sure spent plenty of time chatting with all kinds of well dressed, well-known, and famous people (something that I am not that accustomed to) and standing around drinking beer (something that I am very accustomed to). My friend Corb Lund won the CCMA Award for Roots Artist or Group of the Year for the fourth year in a row and also put in a good word for me in his televisied acceptance speech....very classy guy. Thanks Corby.

Greetings everybody!

We just made it back home to Alberta after a string of performances at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We had a really good time in Fort William/ Port Arthur and were excited to see many old friends and make a whole lot of new ones. Particular thanks to the Phillips and Manziuk families for their hospitality. The summer has been an eventful one and we have covered many miles but we still have some more to go before the season is out. See you next weekend at Ivan Daines 31st Annual Country Music Jamboree, Central Alberta Music Fest, and the Stony Plain Cowboy Festival.
For anybody that missed the article in the Edmonton and Calgary Sun last week we have posted it here

Tim Hus Band

July 17, 2007

Hello Friends,

Thanks for visiting www.timhus.ca!
Hus and the band are right in the middle of their summer workload of rollin' down the highways and touring towns, cities, rodeos, festivals, and of course the Calgary Stampede.

The July long weekend found the band making their debut appearance at Dauphin's Countryfest in Manitoba and a stop along the way saw Spider (upright bass) playing for the first time ever in his hometown of Broadview, Saskatchewan.

The Calgary Stampede involved the usual hectic schedule of 2 or 3 appearances daily throughout the city for the 10 day duration.

There's still lots more to come including mainstage at Big Valley Jamboree, Lakehead Exhibition, and loads of rodeos and cowboy festivals...

Please come to a show sooner rather than later!

Hello Everybody!

We just rolled over the Rockies and back to the Eastern slopes from our annual May tour of British Columbia.

It was our best tour ever of the Dogwood Province and a definite highlight to see so many friends and fans attending the shows and singing and stompin' along to every word. It really is encouraging to see that our endeavor to bring our show to every hamlet, town, and city is resulting in such a growing and enthusiastic response year after year. A heartfelt thank you for allowing us to earn a living as a travellin' cowboy band.

A special tip of the hat goes out to Adrian Calder who made the trek all the way up from California to follow our show around from town to town. On top of it all Adrian booked us to play a show in his workshop for his "Furniture Breaking Party" in Blewett. To our surprise Adrian had made everyone who attended the event a custom "Tim Hus" hat and bandana. It certainly was the first time we had seen so many folks having such a great time smashing furniture, doin' the Sasquatch dance, and wearin' our logo on all their clothing. We were given custom embroidered cowboy jackets from Adrian that are of the highest quality and we are truly humbled...thanks for everything!

Also, Mike and Michelle who put together the great show at the hall in Slocan City and Terry at CJLY Radio...your hospitality is second to none. We'll bid a fond farewell to the windy BC mountain roads... see you next time.

Filmed in High Definition at the spectacular Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, in Golden, BC, amidst the breathtaking Rocky Mountains, this season promises lots of twists and turns along with drama, suspense and plenty of humour.

We hope you’ll tune in!

Hello friends,

We hope all is well with you and yours. Spring is rollin' around again and we are lookin' forward to a busy summer of touring this country of ours. We were fortunate to have really good driving conditions this winter on the "Never Ending Highways Tour" and aside from one stint of avalanches in the mountains of BC (hey...I think I just saw a Sasquatch) that detoured us an additional 800 KM we made it through without incident (oh yeah...we blew the engine in the Hus Bus in December as well and had to get a new one).

Our shows thus far in 2007 have been very well attended and we thank everyone for their ongoing encouragement and support of our brand of Canadiana cowboy music.
The Edmonton Journal newspaper published a good little article with an update recently. We have posted it here.

Lastly, our friend Rick Preston, who did a great job pickin' the telecaster guitar with us for the last few years has been offered an opportunity to play a steady solo gig in the Rocky Mountains. Many thanks to Rick for all the shows, the good times, and the mileage. We wish you all the best!

We are proud to welcome "Peterbilt Pete" Christian aboard the Hus Bus who will be taking on the duties of pickin' the truck drivin' lead guitar, lap steel, and banjo in the future. Pete is a very accomplished and experienced musician and a really friendly guy to boot!

See you on the road...

COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS "The voice of country music in Canada" published their annual list of the The Top CANCOUNTRY CD's of 2006 and HUSKIES & HUSQVARNAS came in at #6!

Of the hundreds of country albums released in 2006 in Canada Tim's latest CD was selected at the top of the list amongst such notables as Prairie Oyster, George Canyon, Michelle Wright, Aron Pritchett, Roy Forbes, Doc Walker, Jim Cuddy, Emerson Drive, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, and Duane Steel. Almost all of these albums are big label productions recorded in Nashville - it is quite exciting to find Tim's original indie recording in such company!

Also, Tim and the Band just got word that they are booked to perform on the mainstage at Canada's largest Country Music Festival this summer - BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE

January 3rd, 2007

Happy New Year!

Here's hoping you and yours had all the best for the holiday season and may 2007 be good to you wherever you are!

First off we wish to thank you for your support throughout the last year. Thank you to everyone who came to a live show, purchased an album, or offered encouraging words. It has been an honour for us to travel throughout this land and beyond bringing you our stories and songs and allowing us to perform them for you. The year has been very good to us and we hope to see you somewhere on the road in 2007.

Sincere apologies to the Slocan Valley for cancelling the show on Saturday, December 23rd. After many miles of reliable touring the engine on the Hus Bus started rattlin' like hell and the piston rod punched right out through the oil pan and the whole works gave out while climbing the Roger's Pass (just past the third snowshed) enroute to the show. This was the first ever show cancelled. Sorry Lorna and thank you for all of your effort in putting this show together. We'll make it up to you the next time we are through. Please support Lorna by attending the various jams, jamborees, and country music events she organizes in the Slocan Valley. Every community should be so lucky as to have a good hearted soul such as Lorna to donate time and energy for the enjoyment of others.

Also, in the annual roundup issue of FastForward magazine, Calgary's Entertainment weekly, music writer Mary-Lynn Wardle chose "Huskies & Husqvarnas" as one of the Top 10 best albums of 2006.

Hello friends,

We recently had the opportunity to showcase at the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions (C.A.F.E) and wish to thank all who attended. Thanks to Pat (our tough as nails and horseshoes booking agent) we already are booked to perform at Dauphin's Countryfest for 3 days and Canadian Lakehead Exhibition in Thunder Bay, Ontario for 4 days with many more festival appearances soon to be announced for 2007.

Also, we were informed that it was not possible to view the entire music video for the song "Longest Stretch of Road" on our website. We have looked into it and you should now be able to view the video in its entirety by clicking on the link at the top of this page or here.

Tim will be a featured guest on "The Letters" reality TV series licensed to Chum Television and will air nationally on CLT, Book Television, Access and Bravo. Tim will appear as an "expert" on writing love songs (that should make all the bulldozer ladies on the pipeline happy). Filming will take place this week in B.C. and we will let you know when it will air as soon as possible.

You can also find Hus's songs on the television series "Hank Williams First Nations" which airs Saturdays at 6 PM on APTN.

The band's first music video for "Longest stretch of Road" will air across Canada in the new year on StarChoice Satellite Independent Music TV Show (DIRT). We will keep you posted.

Tim was recently approached by Off The Grid Productions, a film company based in Denver, Colorado, who are working on a road trip documentary called "Project Canada". They are very interested in using Hus's music as the soundtrack to their film. It seems they first heard of Tim while visiting Calgary during the Stampede last summer. One of the members of the crew was asked for spare change by a panhandler downtown Calgary. The crew member obliged and gave $5 and in return was told "here... have a CD". The album turned out to be "Huskies & Husqvarnas" and soon become a favorite for highway driving all the way back to Colorado. The question at this point would likely be "How did a panhandler get ahold of this album?". Well, while we were playing a show during stampede somebody broke into our band truck and stole a bag with a few CD's in it. We were bummed out about it but it seems karma has let it come full circle. We will let you know about this film as production progresses.

Please come to a show in the near future! We'll see you on the highway....

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for stopin' in to see what condition our condition is in. We kicked holes in the floor and rattled the shingles at the annual Stavely pheasant huntin' whoop-up. It was as wild as it always is. Thanks to Greg and Jade at the Hotel for having us. Jade has booked us to play the Pheasant Huntin' weekend every year for the next hundred years (Greg said he may miss the last 2 or 3)

Our friend Gavin told us that he got himself in a wreck truckin' some machinery out to the oilpatch. It seems he lost control of his rig and put 'er in the rhubarb and rolled the tractor unit three times. When he woke up he was hanging upside down by his seatbelt and our song "Pipeline" was playin' on the radio and that's when he knew he had made it through alright. Fortunately he was not injured and would like truckers everywhere to note that "Pipeline" is a good song to roll your rig to.... any Tim Hus song will do fine but "Pipeline" seems to work particularly well.

We look forward to seein' you in Edmonton at the Full Moon Folk Club tomorrow.

All the best.....Tim Hus & The Rocky Mountain Two

P.S. - There are only 10 tickets remaining for the Tim Hus & The Rocky Mountain Two New Year's Eve Bash at A Bar Named Sue.

Hello friends,

I would like to thank everyone who came to the shows over the last couple of weeks. Very much appreciated! Thanks to John at the times Change(d) in Winnipeg for hosting my first show in "The Peg". It was sure great to see so many familiar faces in a place I hadn't performed in before. Thank you. I recommend going to see Andrew Neville and The Poor Choices if you're in the mood for some prairie truckin' music.

My friend Corb Lund and his band of Hurtin' Albertans were in Calgary and it was good to see them and hang out again for a couple of days. It is sure great to see how people really appreciate his style of songwriting and entertaining. We performed the song we wrote together (Hurtin' Albertan) at the Whiskey on Wedneday and the place was cookin'. Our friend Robin Brandt managed to capture a few minutes of it on her video recorder even though it was pretty rowdy at that point. To see a clip please click here.

A particular highlight for me thus far in my travels was when legendary cowboy singer Ian Tyson attended my solo acoustic show in Black Diamond last night. When I was growing up the school library had an issue of Ian Tyson's book "I never sold my saddle" and in the three years that I attended that school I must have checked the book out and read it a dozen or more times. I would try and strum the chords for the songs when I was learning to play the guitar and I have always been a big fan of Ian's style of music and songwriting. It was a special evening to have him come and listen to some of the songs that I wrote. It felt like it sort of came full circle for me in a way. Thanks Ian! Hope you liked my minin', loggin', truck drivin', and cowboyin' music. See you down the line.
Tim

Hello friends,
Tim and Spider wish to thank those who came to the shows in the Edmonton area at the U of A and the Blue Chair Cafe over the last few days.

Congatulations to John and Carmen Lindsey for being the new proud owners of the Early Stage Saloon in Stony Plain. This is a great small town saloon complete with taxidermy on the walls and even a navajo rug. It is worth checking out.

The new album "Huskies & Husqvarnas" continues to garner positive reviews. The latest reviews can be found in the current edition of Penguin Eggs Magazine and Canadian Cowboy Magazine, available at your local newspaper and magazine store in Canada. If you are interested in reading the reviews we have also posted them here.
See you soon.

September 14, 2006

Hello Everybody,
Hopefully you all had an enjoyable summer and got the chance to see plenty of live music. Fall is upon us now and that means that the leaves are changin', the kids are back in school, and the Canadian Country Music Association holds their annual "Country Music Week". This year it was in Saint John, New Brunswick. First off we wish to congratulate our friends Corb Lund & The Hurtin' Albertans for winning "Roots Group of the Year" as well as "Album of the Year" for their 2006 release Hair in My Eyes Like A Highland Steer. This album has been certified 'Gold' in Canada in less than one year and also contains the song Hurtin' Albertan which was written together by Tim Hus and Corb Lund. Tim is a featured guest on Corb's recording lending his voice to the CB radio. Tim's version of this song can be found on the latest CD entitled Huskies & Husqvarnas. Corb is the featured guest on the CB radio on Tim's recording. Please note that at this time Tim's Huskies & Husqvarnas album still needs to chalk up a few more sales at retail level to reach 'Gold' status (it recently reached 'sheet metal' - just kidding)

Another timbit of news (pardon the pun) is that earlier in the year Tim wrote a song entitled They Called Her Alberta with the Grade 1 and 2 students at the Prince of Wales Elementary School. The students and Tim performed the song at a video conference at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC this past summer. The song deals with Alberta's history and grain elevators. The students are known to the Premier of the province and to the public as "The Elevator Kids". Jennifer George, their teacher, is nominated for the Order of Canada in Teaching Excellence. Congatulations! (hope the song helped out)

ALBERTA - Wild Roses Northern Lights

Smithsonian Folkways Recordings has released a compilation CD entitled: Alberta - Wild Roses Northern Lights - showcasing a variety of musicians and songwriters that make up the musical landscape in the province. Tim was very excited to have his song "Alberta Crude" ,which he wrote about the history of the oil industry, chosen as one of the songs featured on this album. Some of the other artists included are Ian Tyson, Corb Lund, Maria Dunn, k.d. Lang, and many more...
For more info please click here

The new album Huskies & Husqvarnas has charted at the following radio stations:

#10 on the top 20 !Earshot chart at Canadian College Radio across the country for the week ending July 7th!

#18 on the Freeform American Roots chart for the month of May. The FAR is based in Texas, but has DJs reporting worldwide.

Hello Friends,
The festival season is winding down and we wish to thank everyone who came to the shows these past few months. Thank you for your positive response to the new album, your encouraging words and enthusiasm! The band and I have had a busy summer starting with being chosen to represent Alberta at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC. Appearing alongside Ian Tyson, Corb Lund, Maria Dunn, John wort Hannam, and many others to represent Alberta's culture was a definite highlight for me after having moved to this province less than four years ago. Another highlight was performing alongside Robbie Fulks and appearing at the Calgary Folk Festival, Interplay Festival, and Big Valley Jamboree. At BVJ we performed our set in the pouring rain as the wind blew the rain on the stage at 45 degrees. We all got completely soaked with the rain running off of our instruments and off the back of our cowboy hats. Thanks to the brave ones who endured the show! Surely we will have many more adventures coming up as we will be performing all throughout the West this fall and are currently working on booking shows for the East Coast, and Yukon and Nunuvat Territories. Please see our shows page for an upcoming performance in your area. Take care and see you on the road...
Tim

Here's an excerpt from an article that ran in some of the major newspapers: Edmonton Sun, Edmonton Journal, Calgary Sun, Calgary Herald, Regina Leader Post, Winnipeg Free Press, etc.

Folks, it looks like Stompin' Tom is on the "Hus Bus":

While mainstream, commercial airplay has eluded him, Stompin' Tom Connors has nonetheless endured as one of Canada's greatest iconoclasts. Musically, his influence is most profoundly seen in a current crop of Alberta singer-songwriters unashamed to write about where they're from, most notably Tim Hus and Corb Lund.
"I've been noticing that, I think it's healthy for Alberta, and healthy for the country," Connors said. "I've been saying that for so many years. I think it would be a great trend to have the songwriters of this country writing about this country. It gives our kids a chance to wake up in the morning and whistle a Canadian song, with words going through their head about their own native land and the things that they know. The Americans have been doing it for years. I think these guys like Hus and Lund are catchin' on to the trick, and I think it's a great sign."

July 13, 2006

Hello friends,
I had the good fortune of being chosen to represent Alberta at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC from June 29 to July 11, 2006. It was a one-of-a kind experience to sing the songs I wrote about Alberta right "Downtown America" between the Washington monument and the US Capital in the same place where Martin luther gave his famous "I have a dream" speech and Bob Dylan sang for 250 000 protestors. The weather was very hot and humid (up to 109 Degrees Fahrenheit) for someone from the "Snowmobile Belt". The festival was attended by about 120 000 people a day so it was quite a big deal. Between shows I had a chance to visit some of the museums (which are all free to attend) and see Edison's lightbulb, The wright Brothers first airplane, The Spirit of St. Louis, Abraham Lincoln's hat, and painting by Van Gogh and Monet. My roomate for the week at the hotel was Holger Peterson of Saturday Night blues/CKUA/Stony Plain Records. The Americans were very friendly (the wind blew my hat off and about five yankees went runnin' after it right away!) They were also very receptive to my music which was quite a thrill. Also, I got to spend some time with my friends Corb lund and The Hurtin' Albertans, Terri Mason, Allison Brock, and all the other good people. Now it's Stampede time in Calgary and that means up to 5 shows per day. We are in the middle of 42 shows in 20 days right now. Still, this is what we love.
I hope to see you soon. All the best.
Tim

Thank you to all those who attended the CD Release shows in Edmonton and Calgary as well as the British Columbia album release dates. Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated! Initial feedback to the new album has been overwhelmingly positive and we thank you for your continued support of our brand of Canadiana outlaw country/roots music. We will be touring extensively this summer and are excited to announce that we will be performing at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington D.C., The Calgary Stampede, Ft. McMurray Interplay Festival, Big Valley Jamboree, and Calgary Folk Festival among others. We look forward to seeing you on the road this summer!

Hello Everybody!
Tim and Spider just returned from their annual May Tour of British Columbia. The shows went well and it was great to see so many fans from the hills of BC. Rollin' through the green valleys with everything in bloom is one of the highlights of the year. A special thank you to Elysha and Orphe who travelled all the way from Nanaimo to attend the show in Crawford Bay. We sure hope our friends in the Slocan Valley and Passmore make it through the flooding as dry as possible and wish them all the best. Thanks to everyone in the Kootenay, Columbia, Caribou, Rocky Mountain and Okanagen regions for your continued support. We are already looking forward to seeing you again next year!

March 28, 2006
Tim toured Germany as a solo guitar pickin' troubadour in March. Things went well and there will surely be a return visit in the future. Of course there were many new types of beer to sample and assorted adventures along the way. There certainly is a remarkable differnce in the distance travelled between shows in Europe. With a ticket aboard the DB (German Federal Railway), guitar in one hand, and a suitcase full of CD's in the other, touring becomes a whole new experience as compared to rattlin' down the highways and backroads of the West on the "Hus Bus"
One of the highlights was the birthday party of Tim's Opa (grandfather) who turned 100 years of age on March 11 in Nienburg. Opa used to be a farmer in East Prussia before the war and he was known as the best horse breeder in those parts. He was a prisoner of war in Russia for six years and is one of the few that ever made it out and now he is 100 years old. With lineage like that Tim might be pickin' the guitar and tellin' stories for quite a few years to come. Here's a photo taken about 90 years ago in Prussia...

March 7, 2006
We have completed recording our new album and are currently in the process of mixing and mastering and sorting out the graphics and artwork. The new album will be entitled "HUSKIES & HUSQVARNAS" and contains 13 new songs about chainsaws, sled-dogs, buckin' horses, bulldozers, gunfighters, train robbers, card players, beer drinkers, and so on. The release date for the new album is slated for May 5th.
Tim is leaving for a solo tour of Germany tomorrow. See you soon....

January 17, 2006
Happy New Year!
We wish you all the best for the coming year! We are currently in the studio recording a new album. Tim has written 12 new songs about chainsaws, sled-dogs, buckin' horses, bulldozers, gunfighters, train robbers, card players, beer drinkers, and many more (the usual stuff...) including a co-write with 2005 CCMA award winning Corb Lund. For 2006 we will be touring plenty including dates we already have booked in Germany and Washington D.C. We thank you for your continued support. See you down the line........

December 21, 2005
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season with lots of turkey and all the trimmings! The best of seasons greetings to all our friends up and down the highways from the oil camps and pipelines out to the timber camps and the fisheries and everyone in between. For those in the Calgary area we invite you to spend New Year's Eve with us at Calgary's little downtown honky-tonk: A BAR NAMED SUE.
Happy Holidays!

Hello Everybody!
Tim just returned from the "How the West is One" tour with Danny Mack and Tammy Gislason which saw 15 shows in 15 days throughout Alberta and B.C. The shows were varied and eventful and a good time was had by all. Danny Mack will be immigrating to Australia at the end of this month so it was somewhat of a farewell to the West for Danny after 40 years of performing country music in Canada. Both Tim and Tammy learned alot from listening and watching this veteran performer night after night.

Hello Everybody!
We just returned from the Alberta Arts Touring Alliance where we made many friends and discovered many new performance opportunities. We are excited about bringing our show to numerous venues in the new year where we have not yet performed including several in the North. Tim is writing the last of the songs for the new album and we will record in January/February. Look for the new album to be released in the Spring of 2006.

July 8, 2005
Tim and the Band celebrated their debut music video with a MUSIC VIDEO RELEASE PARTY in Calgary at the end of June. The video is for the song "Longest Stretch of Road" Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement. We will let you know where the video can be seen and where to send requests as soon as we have the information available.

May 17, 2005
Tim and Spider returned from their acoustic duo tour of B.C. yesterday. The weather was good and the shows went well. Likely the spring tour to the West coast will become an annual event (possibly twice yearly). Many more venues and cities will be added next time. Thank you to all those who attended the live shows.

Tim Hus and Canadian country singer Corb Lund co-wrote a song together entitled "Hurtin' Albertan". Tim will be in the studio today with the Corb Lund Band recording the song for their upcoming album. Ian Tyson and Ramblin' Jack Elliot will also make guest appearances on the upcoming album.

For those folks in the Calgary area: The film "Hank Williams - First Nations" opens at the Uptown Cinema on May 20th at 7 PM. Hus has two songs on the soundtrack. (Please note the venue has been changed to the Uptown Cinema.)

Hello everybody! It has been really busy the last couple of weeks. I just got back from ALBERTA SCENE in Ottawa. I had a great time but it was very busy with lots of interviews and performances. One of the highlights was a show with Corb Lund and Mike Plume in a really cool club called Barrymore's.
We're workin' out the final details of our music video shoot as we are shooting on May 4th, 5th, and 6th. Many thanks to Darren, Dave, Phil, and Blair for all their help and use of their Vintage Pick-up truck, Freightliner, etc. After that it's out Castor, AB and then to B.C. for some shows with Spider. We look forward to seein' all of our friends at the shows in B.C. as it is always a good time. See you down the road!

Thanks to everybody who has come out to the live shows over the last couple of months. We really appreciate your support! We now have "Tim Hus - Cowboy Singer" meshback trucker hats available at the shows as well as "Jump on the Hus Bus!" T-Shirts (thanks to Dave and Sandra). Tim will be performing one more show in Alberta (Solo at the Blue Chair, Edmonton on April 23rd) before heading East to Ottawa for Alberta Scene.

Tim entered the Calgary Folk Festival songwriting contest with a new song he wrote entitled "Rumrunner" (about bootleggin' gangsters in the Crowsnest Pass in the 1920's). Tim's song has made it to the finals and will be performed live at the Ship & Anchor by Lee (from the band Vibrashank) on April 30th. Many thanks to Lee for learnin' the song and offering to sing it while Tim is away in Ottawa and unable to attend the contest final.

We will be shooting our first music video for the song "Longest Stretch of Road" on May 5th. Many thanks to Phil Walton for the use of his Freightliner.

2005 is the 100th birthday of Alberta! We will be rollin' down the highway singin' our Canadiana Cowboy music throughout the towns and cities of the West. We have plenty of shows already booked and are working on several tours as well as some music festivals in the summertime.

Many thanks to our friends and fans and radio across Canada for being so enthusiastic and supportive of our latest CD "Alberta Crude".

We are currently working on filming a music video release for the single "Longest Stretch of Road"

Tim will be representing Alberta along with Ian Tyson, Corb Lund, and many others at ALBERTA SCENE in Ottawa at the end of April.

We look forward to seein' you out on the road!

Spider (big bass butch bull fiddle and nylon string Willie Nelson guitar) and Tim Hus have been singin' and layin' down their brand of Canadiana cowboy music in the honky-tonks and saloons of Western Canada for the last 12 weeks. The response has been very positive with warm receptions from Ladysmith, Vancouver Island to Maple Creek, Saskatchewan! Lately the crowds have been filled with more and more people singin' the words to Hus' songs. It looks like people are hearing the album and enjoying it.

The most popular comment we've heard all summer long is "I've had your CD in my truck for the last 2 or 3 months and I play it all the time...."

Tim Hus will be the opening act for the annual Corb Lund Band Christmas tour starting December 7th. Corb won two CCMA awards this year in September and it's shaping up to be a real good tour. We look forward to seein' you out on the road!

The new "ALBERTA CRUDE" was released on May 1st. This album is distributed across Canada by Festival distribution. Your local store should carry the new album (if they don't ask for it!) Initial reviews have been very positive. We are working on getting the album and sound clips up on the website at this time.
