MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY HOLIDAY
SEASON!
The Christmas season is upon us again. The ski hills
are open and christmas lights are lighting up the houses
and streets and the snow is falling. We have been finishig
off our very busy year of touring with concerts around
the province of Alberta.
We have just a few concert stops left and then we will
be taking a little bit of time off to write some news
songs and gear up for another great year of Canadian
country and cowboy music in 2012.
Our master fiddle player Billy MacInnis will be heading
home to Prince Edward Island to spend the holidays with
his family. Our man on the big bass bull fiddle - Riley
Tubbs and his new wife Mel will be taking a honeymoon
vacation in the Caribbean. They were married at the
begining of July and are overdue for a little time together!
Tim and Janelle will be taking a holiday trip to Europe
so we will all put down our instruments for a bit.
From all of us to all of you - Happy Holidays!

CHRISTMAS LETTER : A NEW HOLIDAY
TRADITION FOR 2011
As the holidays approach, the giant overseas factories
are kicking into high gear to provide Canadians with
monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise
that has been produced at the expense of Canadian labor.
This year will be different. This year Canadians will
give the gift of genuine concern for other Canadians.
There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time,
nothing can be found that is produced
by Canadian hands. Yes there is!
It's time to think outside the box. Who says a gift
needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced
wrapping paper? Everyone --yes EVERYONE gets their hair
cut. How about gift certificates from your local Canadian
hair salon or barber?
Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are
thinking about some health improvement.
Who wouldn't appreciate getting their car detailed?
Small, Canadian owned detail shops and car washes would
love to sell you a gift certificate or a book of gift
certificates.
Are you one of those extravagant givers who think nothing
of plonking down a wad of cash on a Korean made flat-screen?
Perhaps that grateful gift receiver would like his driveway
sealed, or lawn mowed for the summer, or driveway plowed
all winter, or games at the local golf course.
There are a bazillion owner-run restaurants -- all offering
gift certificates. And, if your intended isn't the fancy
eatery sort, what about a half dozen breakfasts at the
local breakfast joint. Remember, folks this isn't about
big National chains -- this is about supporting your
home town Canadian with their financial lives on the
line to keep their doors open.
How many people couldn't use an oil change for their
car, truck or motorcycle, done at a shop run by the
Canadian working guy? Thinking about a heartfelt gift
for mom? Mom would LOVE the services of a local cleaning
lady for a day.
My computer could use a tune-up, and I KNOW I can find
some young guy who is struggling to get his repair business
up and running.
OK, you were looking for something more personal. Local
crafts people spin their own wool and knit them into
scarves. They make jewelry, and pottery and beautiful
wooden boxes.
Plan your holiday outings at local, owner operated restaurants
and leave your server a nice tip. And, how about going
out to see a play or ballet at your hometown theatre.
Musicians need love too, so find a venue showcasing
local bands. There are planty.
Honestly, people, do you REALLY need to buy another
ten thousand Chinese lights for the house? When you
buy a five dollar string of lights, about fifty cents
stays in the community. If you have those kinds of bucks
to burn, leave the mailman, trash guy or babysitter
a nice BIG tip.
You see, Christmas is no longer about draining Canadian
pockets so that China can build another glittering city.
Christmas is now about caring about us, encouraging
Canadian small businesses to keep plugging away to follow
their dreams. And, when we care about other Canadians,
we care about our communities, and the benefits come
back to us in ways we couldn't imagine.
THIS is the new Canadian Christmas tradition. This is
a revolution of caring about each other, and isn't that
what Christmas is about?

be your own...

Happy Halloween!
Here's wishing you all a very spooky halloween with
lots of ghosts and goblins...
We performed at the historic Auditorium Hotel in Nanton,
Alberta which is an authentic small-town prairie saloon
that was built back before Alberta became a province
and was still a part of the Northwest Territories. The
Halloween show at Nanton is our longest running show
- we performed there on our first one ever in 2003 and
have played there every year since. It is always a good
time - some friendly folks even carved a "cowboy
singer" jack'o'lantern and brought it to the saloon.
Pretty cool, eh?

The Leduc#1 Discovery Center in Alberta has licensed
Tim's song
"Alberta Crude"
for use in their promotional campaign and website. You
can also listen to the song on the first page of their
official website
www.leducnumber1.com.
The Leduc#1 Energy Discovery Center is located in Leduc,
Alberta where on February 13, 1947, Imperial Oil's Leduc
#1 blew in. This was the discovery well that ushered
Alberta into the mainstream of economic activity and
transformed the province from an agrarian economy to
that of oil and gas.
Tim's song
"Alberta Crude"
was recorded on his 2004 CD of the same name and retraces
the footsteps of the oil industry and chronicles the
history of black gold in Alberta. The song has been
a long-time favorite of the many drillers, pipeliners,
derrick hands, roughnecks, motormen and history buffs
that frequent Tim's concerts.

Hi Friends!
After weeks of rollin' across the country we made it
back to Alberta in fine health and spirits and we can
hardly wait to get back to visiting some of our favorite
venues this fall in the Rocky Mountain West. We performed
a wonderful concert in the small town of McCord, Saskatchewan.
This town only has a population of 18 people but we
must have had over 200 at the show - truly amazing.
We look forward to seeing you around Alberta in the
coming weeks.

October 20, 2011
After performing in Montreal, Quebec we have been playing
a string of shows throughout Ontario and are slowly
working our way west along the north shore of Lake Superior.
Our friend Steve Fruitman (he is the DJ of a popular
music program on the University of Toronto CIUT- FM
radio station called

popularity of Singles in the music business of today
on Roots Music Canada.

Tim wrote a comment on the article from Wawa, Ontario
and the comment was considered to be too "long-winded"
to be a comment and as such has been posted as a separate
article. In this way Hus has become a music industry
publication author quite by accident. In case you are

CROSSING THE NOVA SCOTIA - NEW BRUNSWICK
BORDER
Our fall tour has rolled into the Maritimes and
we have surely had some fine adventures along the way.
We played some memorable concerts and even ran into
a snowstorm in Nova Scotia. The winds were really blowing
up a storm on the Northumberland Strait and the Confederation
Bridge to PEI was shut down to vehicles over 7 feet
high. All the big rigs were lined up waiting for the
weather to clear and so was the "Hus Bus".
After being delayed for a couple of days we did make
it to the island and were proud to share the stage with
Nudie & The Turks - a really fine honky-tonk band
from Charlottetown.
In Sussex, New Brunswick we were just setting up to
play when some guys on motorcycles rolled in and liked
the sound of our music. We got hired on the spot to
play a party in a garage in Oak Point the next day and
it certainly turned out to be a fine gathering. Many
thanks to our new friend Rosco for putting together
a genuine New Brunswick country music jamboree in less
than 24 hours.
We spent Thankgiving in Village Green, Prince Edward
Island - hometown of our master fiddle and lead guitar
player Billy MacInnis. After a great big meal we had
a little jam session and Billy's father brought out
his old fiddle and tuned 'er up and let 'er go - a real
East coast kitchen party. We can hardly wait for our
next visit...
After weeks of rollin' Eastbound our tour this time
around brought us as far as Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova
Scoatia. Now it's time to turn the wheel around and
turn our windshield into the setting sun and begin the
long trip Westbound for Quebec, Ontario, and all points
West. Happy Thanksgiving. Goodbye Turkey...

Hello friends!
Here's another update from the road on our fall cross-Canada
trek:
After some very rewarding concerts across the prairies
we have worked our way through the Canadian shield.
It is sure exciting to have so many friends and fans
old and new attending the concerts. We made it to "The
Big Smoke" and are playing a concert at the renowned
Dakota Tavern tonight so if you are in the area it would
be great to see you!
The last week we spent doing concerts around Hamilton,
Oakville, Burlington, and Maryhill and hanging out in
traffic on the 401 which is something that everyone
around these parts can relate to. We attended the Canadian
Country Music Awards on Monday and had a chance to visit
with some of our friends in the music business who we
don't get to see very often.
We had some memorable concerts on the long road along
the lake Superior shore. We played a fun little music
festival called "Tailfeathers" that was staged
by Stephen Alexander who runs a cool live music room
in The Soo.
Also, a very special thank-you goes out to Bob Dale
who put together a concert for us at the arena in Desbarats.
Bob is the owner of a well-known Northern Ontario bushplane
outfit called Air-Dale. Bob was very impressed by Tim's
song "Bush Pilot Buckaroo" and has become
a great fan and supporter. Bob first saw Tim perform
a couple of years ago at the Essar Center in Sault Ste.
Marie when Tim sang some of his songs of the land opening
for Stompin' Tom Connors. Bob Dale has not missed a
show of ours in the area and was so taken by Tim's songwriting
that he commissioned his own CD of Tim's songs. The
CD is a compilation of Bob's favorite Hus songs and
is entitled "A Bush Pilot's Favorite Songs".
Only 1000 CD's were manufactured and they are only available
from Air-Dale so if you are interested in getting yourself
a copy then book a hunting or fishing trip with Air-Dale
into the Ontario wilderness and Bob will see to it that
you get one of these "Limited Edition Air-Dale"
collector CD's.
We have another 10 days of dates in Ontario and then
it's eastbound for the Maritimes...

HARVEST TIME ON THE CANADIAN PRAIRIES
Hi everybody,
It is harvest season and school is underway for another
year. Hopefully you had a good labour day weekend and
are enjoying the beautiful fall weather. We are eastbound
on our fall tour and had some really fine concerts on
the prairies. We even had a chance to help out a little
on the Canola harvest in Manitoba. There is nothing
like the sight of the combines and grain trucks out
in the fields bringing in the harvest on Canada's golden
prairie - "The Bread Basket of the World".
It is always a real treat to visit the towns and cities
across this great country and to bring along our brand
of Canadian songs, stories, and fiddle tunes. We are
working our way across the north shore of Lake Superior
- tonight we are performing a concert in the railroad
town of Schreiber. We are busy working on some new song
ideas and are having a fine time living the life of
a travelin' cowboy band. Hope to see you at a show real
soon!
August 29, 2011
Hello friends,
It sure has been great weather over the last few weeks
in Canada's West.
For the first time ever we took a 10 day vacation in
August and spent a little time fishing and camping and
relaxing from our busy calander of touring and summer
festivals.
We are now loading up the van and getting ready for
a 7 week cross-country tour which will take us as far
East as Halifax, Nova Scotia. We can hardly wait to
get back out on the road and bring our show to all of
the provinces along the way and do our very best to
entertain the folks along the way with Canadian country
and cowboy songs and fiddle tunes from coast to coast
to coast! Please check our upcoming shows page to see
when we will be in your area. We look forward to seeing
you out there on the Never-Ending-Highways tour...

Hi Everybody,
We hope that you are enjoying the summer wherever you
are! We have been very busy over the past three weeks
with a full calander of shows during Stampede week in
Calgary. After all that western spirit we made the journey
North to Dawson City, Yukon where we performed at one
of the most enjoyable music festivals in the country
- The Dawson City Music Festival. Along with great hospitality
and getting to meet many other fine musicians from around
the world it was certainly an experience to be remembered
with the sun shining for 23 hours a day!

We visited Bonanza Creek (Rabbit Creek) where George
Carmack, his wife Kate Carmack (Shaaw Tláa),
her brother Skookum Jim (Keish) and their nephew Dawson
Charlie (Káa Goox) were traveling in 1896 and
discovered the gold that would spawn the greatest gold
rush the world has seen: The Klondike Gold Rush! This
really is a wonderful and magical part of Canada and
we were proud to perform our songs for the wonderful
Northern audiences.
Just four days later we were performing at the Palmer
Rapids Country and Bluegrass Festival along the banks
of the Madawaska River in the Ottawa Valley of Ontario.
This is another great place to visit if you ever get
the chance.

We just returned from a string of shows in small town
Saskatchewan. We would like to thank all the folks who
attended the concerts and a special thank-you to Krista
and Sean for hosting us. We always look forward to visiting
the province that Dief The Chief made famous and singin'
our prairie songs including the double-fisted “Saskatchewan
Son-Of-A-Gun” and the berry pickin' “Talkin’
Saskatoon Blues" from our latest album.
We received a very enthusiastic response and were even
awarded the "Arts Bank Cross-Canada Tour Award"
in Bruno and recieved the "Key to the City"
in Vanscoy - A CN Railroad switch key!
I would venture to say without a doubt that there are
more small towns in Saskatchewan than anywhere else
in the world. Here's a little note that was posted on
the wall at the Robin's Nest Cafe in Vanscoy:
You Know you live in a small town when:
-the largest business in town sells farm machinery
-you know the name of every dog in town
-neighbors and family stay abreast of current events
via walkie-talkie or CB radio.
-Third street is on the edge of town
-you don't signal turns because everyone knows where
you're going, anyway.
-the town newspaper is published monthly and people
read the paper only to see whether the publisher got
the facts right
-businesses close early when there is a Tim Hus concert
in town
We are already lookin' forward to our next visit on
the "Never Ending Highways Tour"...

Hi Everybody,
We hope that you are doing well and enjoying some of
the warmer weather. We have been on the road for a couple
of weeks now and have had some fine adventures along
the way. It is always a pleasure to visit our friends
old and new throughout the hills of BC. We played our
first outdoor concert of the year last week in the hamlet
of Glade, BC and although it was raining in the morning
(almost snowing!) the skies did clear and we had a wonderful
concert in the chilly spring air. We fueled up the "Hus
Bus" with Bio-diesel in the Slocan Valley and have
never been running smoother. I guess you could say that
our travelin' road show is leading edge environmentally
friendly and we're rollin' just like Willie Nelson now...
We had a really rowdy show in Kelowna last night and
tonight we are in Kamloops with a special cowboy concert.
We have a sold-out crowd of 800 and will be taking the
stage in about an hour. Next we are headin' for the
coast and Vancouver Island. See you soon!

COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS "The voice of country
music in Canada" published their annual list of
the The Top CanCountry CD's of 2010 and our latest album
HOCKEYTOWN made the Top 12!
It is very exciting to find our latest CD to be chosen
for this honour out of the hundreds of country music
albums released in Canada throughout the year. It is
also a hat-trick for us as each of our last three releases
(Hockeytown 2010, Bushpilot Buckaroo 2008, Huskies &
Husqvarnas 2006) has made this prestigious list. It
is something that we are very proud of.
Also, Tim's latest release

Hello Everybody
We hope that the year 2011 is treating you well so far!
Hopefully you have been able to stay warm and enjoy
some skiing, snowshoeing, or skating.
We have taken a couple of weeks off to work on some
new songs and to gear up for the year ahead. We can
hardly wait to get out on the road again and bring our
show to all corners of the country and beyond again
this year!
We are very excited to welcome Billy MacInnis from Prince
Edward Island aboard the Hus Bus as a full-time member
of the band. Many of you have already met him as he
has been touring with us off and on for the last couple
of years. Billy is one of the most accomplished fiddle
players from the Maritime provinces of Canada. He has
appeared with country recording artists such as Prairie
Oyster and John Allen Cameron and has been playing fiddle
for the legendary Stompin' Tom for the last seven years.
Billy comes from a long line of accomplished musicians
and is an extraordianary fiddle player in addition to
playing the truck drivin' telecaster guitar and many
other instruments. It is an honour to have him join
up with our outfit. See you on the road!

Happy New Year!
To all of our friends and supporters from across the
country and around the world we wish you and your families
all the best in happiness and health for 2011!
We brought in the new year in fine style last night
with a concert in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains
in Bragg Creek, Alberta. Thanks to all those who attended
-what an enthusiastic audience and a great way to bring
in a new year! A special thanks to Joyce and Stu from
Yellowknife who traveled all the way from the Northwest
Territories to attend the concert. Stu and Joyce had
never before been to one of our live performances but
after hearing our music on the radio decided to make
the long drive from Yellowknife to Bragg Creek to take
in their first show. Shortly after crossing the Alberta
border they had a wreck and rolled their Dodge pick-up
truck. Fortunately they weren't hurt but were certainly
shook-up by the whole incident. However, they were determined
not to let their tickets go to waste so they jumped
on a plane and still made it to Bragg Creek in time
for the concert. Amazing!
Over the last number of years there have been many folks
who have taken long drives to attend our concerts so
we started keeping track of just how far people were
willing to travel. Up until now the record was held
by Jon and Jesse of Dryden, Ontario who drove all the
way from Dryden, Ontario to Coleman, Alberta to attend
a show (1706 KM). This record has held for the last
three years but I believe that Stu and Joyce of Yellowknife
have now taken over the title.
The distance from Yellowknife, NWT to Bragg Creek, AB
is 1749 km and although they didn't entirely manage
to drive the whole distance (though the intent was certainly
there) and had to take an aeroplane to make it happen,
the members of our band have decided that they certainly
deserve the title due to the formidable obstacles encountered
and their unwavering determination!
Below are a couple of recent interviews and live performances
that were broadcast on the radio and are now available
