STOMPIN' TOM PASSING THE TORCH
Hello everybody,
Summer is winding down now and so is our tour
with Stompin' Tom Connors. We have just three shows
left with the Canadian icon and then we will be continueing
on with our own touring schedule throughout Ontario
and westward across the prairies. For any of our new
friends and fans that we have met on the Stompin' Tom
tour we hope that we get the chance to see you at one
of our own shows next month. Please check our tour calander
for when and where we will be passing through a town
close to you!
A week ago we performed a concert in Sault Ste. Marie
that was a personal highlight. My father Helmut Hus
who is 73 years old (the same age as Stompin' Tom) traveled
across the land from Nelson, BC hitch-hiking and riding
freight trains to attend the concert. My father has
traveled all around the world as a seaman on ships and
hitch-hiking and has visited 101 countries. He speaks
5 languages and worked on the railroad in Western Australia
and worked as a bricklayer in Argentina as well as countless
other occupations and has really lived the life of a
vagabond and a drifter. Stompin' Tom and my dad got
along famously well and Tom kept calling him "a
kindred spirit" and saying "if we had met
out on the road years ago we would have been the best
of friends!". Later that evening at the concert
Stompin' Tom pointed my father out to the audience and
he stood up and took a bow while everyone applauded.
It was very touching and I sang a song for him that
I had written about our hometown as well. A review of
the concert was printed here.

Hello friends,
We hope that your summer is going good wherever you
may be and that you have had the chance to take in plenty
of live music at the summer festivals and jamborees
throughout this great land. We have spent the last month
on the road with the one and only Stompin' Tom Connors:
legendary Canadian singer/songwriter. We worked all
kinds of shows throughout the maritime provinces and
then flew over to Newfoundland in a small propeller
plane to play a concert at Mile One Stadium in St. John's.
That completes the Grand Tour as we have performed concerts
this year in all Canadian provinces from Vancouver Island
to Newfoundland and the year started out with concerts
in the Yukon territory so you see we are doing our very
best to bring our brand of Canadiana cowboy music to
every corner of the country. We celebrated in Newfoundland
with a great meal of "fish and brewis" and
of course washed 'er down with plenty of Blackhorse
and Dominion. The shows with Stompin' Tom are going
great and we are making plenty of new fans at every
show and it is truly an honour to watch Stompin' Tom
sing his songs of the land to his thousands of loyal
fans every night. I don't believe we have ever drank
so much Moosehead beer in our whole lives...

Hello friends,
Hopefully you are all havin' a good summer wherever
you may be... from the mountains and the prairies to
the maritimes. We are now rollin' on the Stompin' Tom
tour and just arrived on Prince Edward
Island where we got into one of the biggest lobster
feasts ever seen. The guys in the band are all getting
along great and we are havin' a really fine time.
A couple of nights ago a longtime dream of mine came
true as I performed for the first time on the same stage
as one of my biggest musical idols: Canadian icon Stompin'
Tom Connors. We played two sets and
there seemed to be no end to the enthusiasm of the audience.
Stompin' Tom even told the audience from the stage that
he was proud to have me on this tour and that of all
the opening acts that he has had over the years that
I am his favorite because I'm singin' all of those Canadian
songs and giving a voice to the Canadian people like
he has been doing for so long and that he is "passing
along the torch". Certainly one of the most touching
moments of my career thus far. We are really lookin'
forward to seein' you all very soon and making a whole
potato truckful of new fans on the East Coast.
All the best,
Tim

We are very excited to announce that Tim Hus has been
personally invited by Stompin' Tom to join him on tour
this summer. Tim will not only be opening each of the
two nightly sets of the tour but he and Peterbilt Pete

| This summer,
beloved Canadian treasure Stompin’ Tom Connors
adds another major accolade to his long list of
honours with the release of his very own Canadian
Postage Stamp, which he calls his "stamp of
approval". In celebration of this and with
the success of his most recent studio album, The
Ballad of Stompin' Tom, he has decided to hit the
road as a special thank you to his fans. The tour
kicks off in Belleville on July 21 and wraps up
on August 29 in Hamilton. Some highlights along
the tour include his first concert in Newfoundland
in almost 20 years and his first concert ever at
Casino Rama. The East Coast has anxiously been awaiting
the return of Stompin' Tom as it has been eight
years since his last tour of the Maritimes. The
tour will feature special guest Tim Hus who was
personally contacted by Stompin' Tom to join him
on the road. All tickets go on sale on Friday, May

Hello friends,
The year has started off in grande style with a
trip up the world famous Alaska Highway to the Yukon
territory.
It was a great adventure that included the Liard
Hot Springs, ice-fishing, dog sledding, and standin'
on the 'marge of Lake Labarge' at -40 below zero
on a cold Yukon night. It was a real pleasure to
perform the Northern songs off of the last four
albums in concert in the Yukon territory and naturally
"Huskies & Husqvarnas" and
"Bush Pilot Buckaroo" turned
out to be real crowd pleasers.
Many thanks to Steve Slade, CBC Radio Yukon, CHON
FM, The Whithorse Star, and The Yukon News for all
of their help and being so welcoming.
So long to the Yukon |

Happy New Year! Here's wishing you all the best for the
upcoming year and may 2009 be good to you wherever you
are!
Please allow us to sincerely thank you for your support
throughout this very eventful last year. Thank you to
everyone who took the time to listen to our music at a
live concert or on radio, TV, or in recorded form. Your
encouraging words and enthusiasm have made it a pleasure
and an honour to travel throughout this land bringing
you our brand of Canadiana stories and songs.
COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS "The voice of country
music in Canada" published their annual list of the
The Top CanCountry CD's of 2008 and our latest album
BUSH PILOT BUCKAROO made the Top 10!
It is very exciting to find our latest CD to be chosen
for this honour out of the hundreds of country music albums
released in Canada throughout the year.
Also, in the annual roundup issue of FastForward magazine,
Calgary's Entertainment weekly, music writer Mary-Lynn
Wardle chose "Bush Pilot Buckaroo"
as one of the
Top 8 best albums of the year!
We are very proud to welcome Riley Tubbs to the band this
year as our hell raisin', beer drinkin', honky tonkin',
plank spankin' big bull fiddle operator. Riley is a long-time
friend of the band, a first rate musician, and a talented
harmony singer who hails from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
We are excited to be welcoming him aboard the 'Hus Bus'
and look forward to introducing him to our many friends
and fans throughout the provinces and beyond.
We wish to thank our road warrior campadre Spider for
all the good times, the shows, and the mileage and wish
him and his family the very best as they are moving back
to Saskatchewan.
Here's to seein' you all somewhere down the road
in 2009!
